Class Descriptions
Teen Ballet Technique
(Ages 13+) Intermediate through advanced RAD ballet technique is instructed in this class with a strong focus on classical ballet vocabulary and improving ballet technique and skills. Instruction at the barre, in the center, across the floor including dance combinations and dance choreography. Students will perform at various community functions and spring recital.
Attire: leotard and ballet shoes.
Teen Pointe Technique
(Ages 13+) Beginner through advanced pointe is instructed in this class. Classical ballet terminology is taught, along with pointe skills at the barre, center and across the floor. Focus is on teaching proper pointe technique and positions. Students with learn pointe combinations and dance choreography. Students will perform at various community functions and spring recital.
Attire: leotard and pointe shoes.
Ballet/Lyrical Technique
(Ages 7-13) In this class, students develop a strong foundation in classical RAD ballet technique and skills, building strength and flexibility and learn ballet vocabulary. Instruction will include lyrical dance styles. Students will learn ballet/lyrical dance choreography. Students will perform at various community functions and spring recital.
Attire: leotard and ballet shoes.
Youth Beginner Dance Technique
(Ages 4-7) An introduction to ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical dance for girls and boys in a fun, nurturing and positive environment. Students learn basic skills in all these areas of dance, and basic dance vocabulary. Students will perform at various community functions and spring recital.
Attire: leotard, tap and ballet or jazz shoes.
Youth Intermediate Dance Technique
(Ages 8-12) Students develop a strong foundation in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical dance techniques, build confidence, discipline and learn fun, age appropriate dance routines. Basic dance vocabulary is also included in the instruction. Students will perform at various community functions and spring recital.
Attire: leotard, tap and ballet or jazz shoes.
Teen Dance Technique
(Ages 13-18+) Students develop a strong foundation in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical dance techniques, build confidence, discipline and learn various dance routines. Dance vocabulary is also included in the instruction. Students will perform at various community functions and spring recital.
Attire: leotard, tap and ballet or jazz shoes.
Advanced and Specialized Technique Classes
(Ages depending upon demand) Classes will be offered specifically in tap, jazz or ballet and in various levels of difficulty depending upon student enrollment. These classes will focus on one or two specific dance styles, depending upon the demand for specific classes. They could include a combination jazz/tap; ballet/tap; or ballet/jazz.
Attire: leotard and appropriate dance shoes.
Mommy & Me Dance
(Ages 3-5) Parents and children have fun learning basic, age appropriate dance steps. Class is taught in a nurturing and fun environment. Introduction to the wonderful world of dance!
Attire: leotards and ballet or jazz shoes for children and comfortable clothes and shoes for adults.
Adult Tap Dance
Adults have fun learning and improving in fundamental tap technique, coordination, rhythm and timing in a non-competitive environment. Will learn tap dance choreography.
Attire: tap shoes.
Voice Lessons
This class instructs in learning proper singing techniques, vocal exercises/warm-up, learning to read music and basic musical terms and vocabulary. Private or duet lessons also available.
Couples Choreography
This class teaches choreography for individual couples for special events including weddings, anniversaries, etc. One hour classes will held once a week, for one couple at a time. The choreography will be individualized according to the couple and the music that is selected by the couple.
